In line at Ikea recently, I was granted plenty of time to study my surroundings. I noticed that the cashier lanes which were (mysteriously) not open had had their entrances closed with big metal gates. In the middle of the big metal gate way mounted a big metal sign reading, "Lane closed. Gate is locked."

Some time within the next few hours that I spent in line, I noticed two employees wheeling a cart of heavy-looking boxes toward one of these closed lanes. Without slowing down, the lead bloke kneed it open and proceeded through.

It was only then that I noticed that not only were these gates obviously not locked; they in fact did not have any sort of locking mechanism. In a stroke of billiance, someone had realized that while installing actual locks on the gates would just be a big inconvenience for employees, installing signs to grant the aura of lockedness would be every bit as effective, and yet easily bypassed by those in the know.

I felt a desire to create an homage to Bob and Bob by supplementing these signs with the note, "-The Mgt."
